I am so excited to be involved in Parjunkee’s cover reveal for Kelbian Noel’s second novel in her Witchbound Series. This YA book is called Sprung and I get to show you the gorgeous cover and the new book trailer. There are links below for Team Roots to see new cover for the first novel in the series. Enjoy the pretty!
Last week I picked a paranormal romance with a yummy hunk cover but this week I’ve picked the other type of cover that often appeals to me. A fantasy style cover! Yes. I really am I geek and I love to read sci-fi and fantasy fiction.
Thank you to The Book Queen for Lusting for Covers meme. I love sharing covers that I’m excited about!
I’m kinda slacking a bit… I am on vacation with my parents! *Kermit flail* So happy! I haven’t been home to visit for a year and it’s wonderful to be home. Sooo, anyway, I picked a book cover of a book I just pre-ordered. I read Cinder, the first book in Marissa Meyer’s Young Adult Lunar Chronicles, almost a year ago. I LOVED it!
I’m a sucker for fairy tale stories. Add in sci-fi/fantasy details like a human/cyborg heroine, a wicked alien queen from the moon and a handsome prince? I’m a goner. <g> I read it not realizing it was part of a series and when I was 3/4 through the book it dawned on me that there was NO way the plot lines could be wrapped up in the pages left. 😛 Meep!
Welcome to my stop on Russell Hasan’s tour for his young adult book “Rob Seablue and the Eye of Tantalus” 😉 I have a fun excerpt. <g> I was reading it as I made this post and now I’m curious to see how Rob will defeat the evil eye and the Hator Gator!
Check out teen sorcerer Rob Seablue and his adventures stopping the evil that has captured his best friend. It looks like a wild ride!
I truly love YA books and the cover of Few are Angels immediately caught my eye and the synopsis held it. 🙂 Take a closer look and check out the excerpt too. Oh! The author, Inger, has a really great giveaway for her Bewitching Book Tour and there are 10 chances to win Few are Angels! Click HERE for her contest.
I love this fantasy young adult novel Troll or Derby by Red Tash! I adore the way the story is told by the two protagonists Deb and Harlow and I am eagerly awaiting the next adventure in this gritty fantasy tale. Maybe Red can be bribed with cupcakes?
Yay! This book is out in paperback today! I own it in hardback, cause I’m a sucker for pretty covers and unique sounding plots. I remember starting this story and thinking I would read a few chapters and go to bed, then getting sucked into the storytelling and not looking up until I finished Shatter Me at 1am! It hooked me within the first few pages.
This paranormal young adult novel is set in a not too distant dystopian future where The Reestablishment controls peoples lives. Animals are dying, crops aren’t growing and the weather is a mess because of pollution. The Reestablishment promised safety and security. Its a shiny hope and once people believed and turned control over , the rights of the individual were chipped away in the name of peace. Sounds scarily possible.
Juliette sucked me into her world. I haven’t read a book with this storytelling style before, but I just went with it. Shatter Me is written in first person and it feels like you’re in her head. Her thoughts skip around a bit and there are repetitive parts that drive home a point, and the strike out tool (where words are actually scratched out) when Juliette is trying to forget something or correct a thought. I felt it was effective in showing how her mind works. I liked how lyrical and poetic her thought pattern could be.
