I love a good mystery! I cut my teeth on Mary Higgins Clark and Lilian Jackson Braun’s The Cat Who books. Sooo for my love of mysteries and for book birthdays today is all about Melissa Bourbon’s new release A Killing Notion! It’s book 5 in her A Magical Dressmaking series. I’ve added these books to my TRB pile because they look like a hoot! A seamstress with help from the beyond solving mysteries? Gimme!
Oh! I love mysteries and grew up reading them. I am thrilled to have The Fornarina Affair mystery author Ellis Drake‘s guest post. She shares about the books she read as a child… as yes, she still has them!
*Snoopy Dance* Me too! I still have my childhood favs. *raises hand* I’m a book packrat too. 😛 I still have my Trixie Belden’s and Encyclopedia Brown collection.
I am so happy to help Lorena celebrate her book birthday today with the release of The X! It’s out today! oops!@ It’s out the end of the week! *Snoopy Dance* I don’t often read books from the thriller genre but I was lucky enough to read a review copy and I raced through this book. It’s a fast paced adventure that kept me on the edge of my seat rooting for the heroine Clarissa to kick butt and take back her life! Click HERE for my review.
Lorena is hanging out with me today on my interview couch eating M&Ms and chatting about Bond and Orphan Annie hair and more. 🙂 Oh! She’s giving on lucky commenter a copy of The X! Use the rafflecopter at the end of this chat to enter.
I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting into when I read The X. I knew it was a suspense story…. But honestly? that’s about it. I stepped out of my comfort zone and took a chance. The X is a book I likely wouldn’t have picked up on my own, but I’m glad it came into my hands. I would have missed out on a thriller that hooked me from the heroine’s first shocking life change until the action packed ending.
I was a bit surprised and how much I loved this book because In Her Sights is romantic suspense and I’ve been on a urban fantasy, paranormal romance kick for a while. But I devoured this book! Raced through it and was reminded of my love for mystery and romantic suspense. I grew up on mystery, I love Karen Robards, Mary Stewart, Elizabeth Lowel… I just haven’t read the genre in a while.
In Her Sights is by Charley Colins, aka Keri Ford and I recommend you give it a try if you like your characters to be complex and layered. I am eagerly waiting for the sequel to delve deeper into Lexie’s past and present and see what unfolds for her… I also want more Clay! *sigh*
