The wedding’s off but the honeymoon is on… Promise Harbor Wedding, Book 1 Devon can do this. She can show up at her ex-boyfriend Josh’s wedding, even though he’s marrying her ex-best-friend. She can show everyone she’s happy with her fabulous life in Boston, her great career, her amazing shoes — and she can show everyone she’s over him. Truth is, her life isn’t so fabulous. She’s just been downsized out of her job, her Jimmy Choos won’t pay her mortgage, and…she’s still heartbroken that Josh chose family over her. The real reason she’s enduring this wedding is that her next stop is nearby Greenbush Island, her last hope of finding a new job. Josh knows marrying long-time friend Allie will make everyone happy after the rough time their families have been through, and since the woman he really wanted to marry chose her career and big city life over him—why not? But the perfect wedding turns into a perfect disaster when Allie leaves him at the altar for another man. He never saw that coming! But hey, Devon’s there, offering to help him look for Allie on Greenbush Island, where he’d planned their honeymoon. Only, all they find there are their old feelings for each other and a temptation to risk their hearts one more time…

Warning: This book contains a firefighter hot enough to ignite flames, a woman who doesn’t want to get burned again, a honeymoon suite but no honeymoon, and sex not on the beach (sorry).

Kelly Jamieson - author picMore Kelly

I’m a married mother of two who lives a very ordinary life outside of my imagination. When I’m not writing I’m usually reading. I also like to cook and that means I like to read cookbooks and cooking magazines. In the summer I enjoy spending time gardening and in the winter I like to read gardening magazines and seed catalogues. I love lying on the beach or on my deck with a glass of wine and a good book. I also love to travel. As you can see, pretty much all my activities involve reading somehow! Although I don’t have as much time for it any more, I also love to shop, especially for clothes and shoes. Some think I’m obsessed with shoes but that is not true (although my husband would point out that there is no room left in our closet).

Book 2 in the Promise Harbor Series

(Promise Harbor Wedding)

Release date: Apr. 2, 2013
Meg Benjamin (Author)
ISBN: 978-1-61921-429-3
Format: eBook

Sometimes you have to get lost before you can find yourself.

Greta Brewster McBain in a bind. Two, if she’s really counting. First there’s the can-barely-breathe, bridesmaid’s dress from hell. Second, the stranger who just carried her “perfect” brother’s fiancée out the church door has made it impossible to tell her own mother about her own divorce.

Rather than confirm her reputation as the family screw-up, Greta takes a drive to clear her head.

Trapped in a hole and unable to reach his cell phone, Hank Mitchell is resigned to becoming a permanent part of his own archeological dig when help arrives—in the form of a woman who looks like a Gone With The Wind refugee. Behind the ruffles and lace, though, is something he appreciates: a woman who isn’t afraid of a little dirt.

Their instant connection draws Greta into the eccentric world of the Hotel Grand, where she impulsively trades her hoopskirts for an apron. Soon things are getting hot, not only in the hotel kitchen, but in Hank’s arms…

Warning: Contains hot moonlit sex, a melancholy turtle, two wisecracking seniors, and the world’s ugliest bridesmaid dress.

  1. That’s easy. I love when the story continues. I love how it draws out the different characters, their lives and loves… It is like coming home every time you crack open a new book…

  2. I love that you get to the know the characters. They start feeling like family. You start getting an attachment to them.

  3. I love that you get to the know the characters. They start feeling like family. You start getting an attachment to them.

    1. It’s nice to know that at the end of a book you are not saying goodbye because you get to visit them again in the rest of the books! (and on the rereads of course! lol)

  4. I love being able to continue hearing about my favorite characters. It makes it feel as though I’m there even more.

Jilted was awesome! I loved it. I can’t wait to read Bolted and the other two books. Thanks for sharing!

  5. When I finish a book, I feel like I have lost contact with a good friend. I like to read series books because that way I feel like I get to catch up and spend time with those friends again.

    1. Yes! exactly that. One of my fav series of all is JD Robb’s In Death because I love watching the characters grow and change and relationships get stronger!

      Thanks for saying hi!

  6. I think it’s the whole thing of wanting more of whatever that first book read in a series makes me feel – happy, sexy, or even a sad feeling. Whatever it was, I want more. The author has already proven themselves so it’s a good bet.

With something like OUTLANDER I think I just wanted Jamie Fraser to come out of the book and take over my husband’s body while at the same time subsuming his physical attributes with Jamie Fraser’s. How else can I say that without sounding like a fantasy skank?

    1. rotflol I’ll be a fantasy skank with you 😉 I love Jamie Fraser too and want to be called Sassenach with a Scottish lilt! I love reading (and rereading) series so I can spend more time and see my fav characters journey.

      (((hugs))) Kat

  7. I like really getting to know the characters and seeing them grow. The best series are those when the hero and heroine don’t ride off into the sunset, but we see them after their HEA as they continue to develop.

  8. Oh gosh hehe this is the second time I been asked this question today the answer for me will always be easy and the same I LOVE reading series books and often get addicted to them 🙂 its always exciting getting the next book and venturing with the character to the next chapter in their life and watching them progress and grow. It makes you feel really like you are a part of that, as if you know them personally. Always sad when a series ends, but I like knowing what happens beyond book 1!

  9. I enjoy the real life situations, the real hot romance, and the triumph of the (hopefully) happily ever after.

    Thanks for the opportunity.
