♥ FROM THE DESK OF SHILOH WALKER ♥
_________________________________
So maybe you remember that time back in the fall where I lost my mind.
I went a little crazy, went on a crime spree and stole a bunch of stuff from friends…um, well.**
I’m trying to make amends. I’ve begged and pleaded with them to forgive me and now I’m begging and pleading with everybody else. This time, instead of taking stuff, I want to fix stuff. But the question is…what do I fix?
So…well, it’s February…almost Valentine’s Day. We’ll fix some lovers! Reunite them…ya know?
Like lovers…famous lovers who just can’t seem to get connected the way they should be.
Romeo and Juliet!
Kermit and Miss Piggy!
And since none of my friends from the last go-round trust me in their homes right now, I had to enlist some new friends to go along on this little mad jaunt.
I promise, I absolutely did not steal any secrets this time, I did not break into any homes.
And they still offered up prizes…
Carly Phillips, Ruthie Knox, Jaci Burton, Elle Kennedy & Lauren Dane
are joining me on my…um…REUNITED tour,
where I try to make amends and we talk about famous couples
and give away prizes.
Wanna join us?
**I didn’t really go on a crime spree. Really. It was all in fun. Maybe I did go crazy, though. You never know.
So…I wanted to make this really easy on the authors who were helping me make amends. Just an easy question…and then we’ll ask Mr. Cupid not to tear our favorite couples apart. I don’t know if it will work, but the power of positive thinking, right?
Joining us today…Ruthie Knox!
Name a famous couple that you don’t think should ever be torn apart…
Ruthie: I don’t want Barak and Michelle Obama to ever be torn apart. Because, first of all, they’re parents, and they seem by all accounts to be good, loving parents.
Second of all, teh cute!
Thirdly, he is the president, but she was his boss first. Love that. So much.
But the biggest reason is this interview that Barak and Michelle did in 1996, and particularly this thing that Barak says about Michelle:
Michelle is a tremendously strong person, and has a very strong sense of herself and who she is and where she comes from. But I also think in her eyes you can see a trace of vulnerability that most people don’t know, because when she’s walking through the world she is this tall, beautiful, confident woman. There is a part of her that is vulnerable and young and sometimes frightened, and I think seeing both of those things is what attracted me to her. And then what sustains our relationship is I’m extremely happy with her, and part of it has to do with the fact that she is at once completely familiar to me, so that I can be myself and she knows me very well and I trust her completely, but at the same time she is also a complete mystery to me in some ways. And there are times when we are lying in bed and I look over and sort of have a start. Because I realize here is this other person who is separate and different and has different memories and backgrounds and thoughts and feelings. It’s that tension between familiarity and mystery that makes for something strong, because, even as you build a life of trust and comfort and mutual support, you retain some sense of surprise or wonder about the other person.
That makes me cry every time I read it. Every. Single. Time.
I love them.
Ruthie doesn’t have one prize… she is giving away several. One person gets two prizes…a book…and… a batch of Michelle Obama’s chocolate chip cookies. (Made by Ruthie…this is US only. Sorry, the cookies need to be fresh to taste good, right?).
And she’s going to give away five downloads of the book, How to Misbehave. The book is digital, so the books will be delivered via download.
About Ruthie’s latest… HOW TO MISBEHAVE

How to Misbehave (Novella)
What woman can resist a hot man in a hard hat? Beloved author Ruthie Knox kicks off her new Camelot series with this deliciously sexy original novella, in which a good girl learns how to misbehave . . . with all her heart.
As program director for the Camelot Community Center, Amber Clark knows how to keep her cool. That is, until a sudden tornado warning forces her to take shelter in a darkened basement with a hunk of man whose sex appeal green lights her every fantasy. With a voice that would melt chocolate, he asks her if she is okay. Now she’s hot all over and wondering: How does a girl make a move?
Building contractor Tony Mazzara was just looking to escape nature’s fury. Instead, he finds himself all tangled up with lovely Amber. Sweet and sexy, she’s ready to unleash her wild side. Their mutual desire reaches a fever pitch and creates a storm of its own—unexpected, powerful, and unforgettable. But is it bigger than Tony can handle? Can he let go of painful memories and let the force of this remarkable woman show him a future he never dreamed existed?

And if you’re curious to read about the book that inspired me to REUNITE and fix things after my little life of crime…well, it’s THE REUNITED… (Yes, I had to get the promo bit in there…)
AN ETERNAL DESIRE
With his strong psychic ability, FBI Agent Joss Crawford longs for the woman he loved in a past life. But after years of searching, a new case is drawing him into the last place he’d ever want to find her: an underground slave ring. Going undercover to infiltrate the network, he meets Drucella Chapman–the mastermind’s fiancee. Joss has every reason to believe she’s evil. So why is he irresistibly drawn to her?
Drucella has made it her personal mission to bring the slave ring down. But the sadistic ring leader is even more careful than he is cruel. In order to gain information, Dru has had to get close to the very man she wishes to kill, psychically reading his memories bit by bit. she’d do anything to finish the job, but agreeing to marry him may have been a step too far–even for her.
Though Joss and Dru are both undercover, nothing can disguise the sense of deja vu they experience when they meet. Neither can afford to be distracted from the mission at hand, but perhaps their reunion is exactly what this mission needs…
One of my favorite literary couples is Sir Percy (aka the Scarlet Pimpernel) & Marguerite Blakeney. They have so much to learn from each other and have such great chemistry.
Tristan & Isolde!!!!! What a love triangle that was!
Thanks for the great giveaway!!
Cathy and Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights. They could have been so much more.
Tristan & Isolde
Today’s couple for me is Adam Hauptman and Mercedes Thompson from the Patricia Briggs series.
Love Ruthie’s choice – I had never read that statement from Barack Obama but I have to agree it almost brought me to tears!
I think I’ll go with an old tried and true favorite – Ms. Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy 😀 (I may have been watching the LBD on youtube)
Fiona and Shrek!
I went to a Cleopatra exhibit last summer, and found her story fascinating, so I’d say Cleopatra and Mark Antony are my favorite legendary lovers.
Zsadist and Bella
