Me: Kelly! You’re here! (((hugs))) I’m so happy to see you again! Come on it and get cozy on my virtual couch. Let me have your coat… and those shoes! *sigh* ok, ok, you can keep your shoes. But I want them! 😛 Oh! Can I get you a drink? What’s your liquid addiction? Mine’s Dr. Pepper.
Kelly: Is it too early for a glass of wine? If so, I’ll take coffee. Black. Thank you.
Me: Never too early darlin’
*hands Kelly her drink and flops onto the couch*
Did you know you were my very FIRST interview here at The Book Tart? *hugs a pillow* I would love you forever for that, but it completely helps that you are a darling red head with a deliciously wicked imagination and an addicting storytelling ability. 😀 And you are a celebrating another book birthday! With Strings Attached is here! Mmmm Chocolate and guys. Some of my favorite things. *grabs bowl of m&ms and munches* How did this story develop? What came first? *coughs* I did NOT say who! 😉
Kelly: I don’t think I did know that I was your *ahem* first. 🙂 You are so sweet!
So who what came first? Hmmm. I’d written a few bad boys recently and I wanted to write something different. A hero who’s a nice guy and kind of feels like nice guys finish last when it comes to women. Now, Matt’s not wimpy, not at all, he’s very male, better looking than he realizes and very sexual. But he is nice — he’s the man of his family (mom and two sisters) he looks after people he cares about, he’s easy to talk to and has lots of friends…including his “friends with benefits” Corey. When his old buddy Dylan comes to visit, it stirs up some competitive instincts in Matt.
Me: *sigh* Corey and Matt and Dylan….Your books make me laugh and often make me tear up. Please tell me you have sequels in mind! Or. Or. I’ll take your shoes!
Kelly: Hands off the shoes! 🙂 And yes! I do have sequels coming up. San Amaro Singles Book 2 is How to Love (June 2013) — a ménage story about one of the characters who makes a brief appearance in With Strings Attached — Jules Stockwood, a photographer who is growing her business taking nude male photos. And then in September, Book 3 Slammed will be out —Dylan’s story.
Me: Yay! September is my birthday month and I want Dylan for a present.
What is up next for you? Do you take a little writing break between books or just keep telling stories?
Kelly: I don’t plan to take breaks but sometimes I’m forced to by all the editing and promo that needs to be done. But I have so many story ideas, it drives me crazy when I don’t have time to work on them all! My next book that’s out will be Hat Trick. This is the much-requested fourth Heller Brothers hockey book. It finally answers the burning question: Is Jase really the father of Brianne’s baby?? And we also check in with Tag and Kyla (from Faceoff) and Logan and Nicole (from One Man Advantage). Hat Trick should be out mid February!
Me: Woohoo! You do have a busy calendar 😀 Keeps us happy!
Ok hon, it’s silly time! *grabs a handful of sour patch kids* want some?
Kelly: I love sour candy. Thank you!
Me: How could you compare writing to a hot fudge Sunday?
Kelly: It’s hot, it’s cold, it’s sweet, it’s messy, it’s yummy and I love it. 🙂
Me:Now I want ice cream *pouts*
I just made up a word cocoazation please make up a definition. 😛
Kelly: The act of preparing cocao beans to create chocolate body paint.
Me: Mmmm yum! I like it 😀
We’re gonna play a game of Madlibs… nope, not telling what it is. You can make your answers as naughty or nice as you’d like 😀

The melting point is where it all comes together…or makes a big mess.
San Amaro Singles, Book 1
Corey Fenwick keeps her bitter past as hidden as the sweet centers inside the handmade chocolates she sells to a growing list of upscale customers. Experience has taught her the only person she can rely on is herself, so her best-friends-with-benefits relationship with Matt is perfect—no strings attached.
After his last girlfriend deemed him “boring”, Matt Ferber watched her ride off on the back of a Harley with a rock musician. Figuring he’s doomed to “let’s just be friends” with the women he cares about, the arrangement with Corey suits him fine too. Until his old friend Dylan Schell rolls into town to hang out while recovering from a surfing injury.
The sexy bad boy makes Corey’s mouth water, and she figures a harmless fling won’t hurt, especially when Dylan suggests she come between him and Matt—in bed.
It’s a win-win-win situation…until somehow there are strings attached. And too late they realize they’re getting all tangled up.

I’m a married mother of two who lives a very ordinary life outside of my imagination. When I’m not writing I’m usually reading. I also like to cook and that means I like to read cookbooks and cooking magazines. In the summer I enjoy spending time gardening and in the winter I like to read gardening magazines and seed catalogues. I love lying on the beach or on my deck with a glass of wine and a good book. I also love to travel. As you can see, pretty much all my activities involve reading somehow! Although I don’t have as much time for it any more, I also love to shop, especially for clothes and shoes. Some think I’m obsessed with shoes but that is not true (although my husband would point out that there is no room left in our closet).
