The Book Tart | Happy July!

Well…. That took WAY longer than I anticipated.I just scrolled through my New Fiction Release page for the month of July and browsed the 900+ fiction titles releasing this month! I was updating covers where possible and inserting the plots if they were missing. An unfortunate quirk of the programming for the database is that if the description has text like “description coming soon” the program will not look for a missing synopsis- cause there’s something there! I want minions to do the nit-picky stuff for me. Little yellow ones like in Despicable Me (one of my favorite animated movies) If I had minions they could make sure nothing was missing from the database and I could just enjoy viewing all the new releases and not worry about missing info. Oh! I am extremely amused at the fact that many of the series romance books needed the plots added to the books page and it reminded me of last year… when I was more naive and thought that my brother and I could manually create a list of ALL the new books and he was a good sport and helped me out… Till I decided there must be a programmer who could design something to help me. Anyway, my 20 year old brother saw more clinche covers and read more romance plots than most guys ever will! :) He’s a good sport and has actually read a few romances novels. I think more guys should, honestly

Ummmm…. where was I? Oh! yeah…. July new releases. On the plus side, by my scrolling through all the titles in my database I discovered a few books I am very excited for. Elizabeth Peters is re-releasing some of her romantic suspense/gothic romance books at the end of the month! *squee* I absolutely adore her books and own most, but not all, of them. Take a look if you like romantic suspense and clever dialogue.

Ilona An Gunmetal Magic: A Novel in the World of Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews drews book Gunmetal Magic is out July 31st and it’s a spin off in the Kate Daniels series focused on Andrea. I pre-ordered it

Christine Feehan has a new Ghostwalker novel, Samurai Game, out on July 3rd.

Diana Rowland’s second book in her White Trash Zombie series, Even White Trash Zombie’s Get The Blues, is out on Tuesday. It’s the only book I’ve read where a zombie is the heroine- and I love Angel!

Deborah Harkness sequel to A Discovery Of Witches, Shadow Of Night is out next week. I’ve read mixed reviews on the first book… But I personally enjoyed it- I listened to the entire book on audio and it’s read so well… I can’t read french or speak latin but the narrator made it sound amazing. So, anyway, I AM looking forward to this book.

Jean Johnson’s sci fi novel An Officer’s Duty is out at the end of the month too. I enjoyed the first book and am eagerly waiting for this one!

Oh! Oh! Susan Elizabeth Phillips has a new book out on the 10th! *happy dancing* I love! love! love! her. (yes, she deserves lots of exclamation points) <g> I met her at the RT Book Convention and fan girled her… she’s so nice) The book is Lucy’s story and it’s called The Great Escape.

Maya Banks 4th book in her KGI series is out July 3rd. I just pre-ordered it and paid for rush shipping. I know *shaking head* silly me. But I am very excited about this book and can’t count on my local grocery story to have it on Tuesday and I want it like, NOW. The book is Echoes At Dawn.

Another book I am waiting for is Kelley Armstrong’s final book in her Women Of The Otherworld series. Thirteen will be released on July 24th. Thirteen (Women of the Otherworld) by Kelley Armstrong I’ve been reading this series for over 10 years. I have two copies of Stolen, one is the Canadian first edition because I couldn’t wait for the series to be released in the states. I am sad the series is ending but I am looking forward to reading this last instalment and I know I will still visit the series. <g> That is why I keep ALL my books… I do re-read them. When I moved 5 years ago, I rented a truck just for my boxes of books… My Precious-es (hmmm, how would you plural precious?) :p Yep- Obsessed!
