Interview with the Bandicoot Cove
The Wedding authors Lexxie Couper,
Jess Dee and Sami Lee
The Bandicoot Cove- The Wedding came out September 4th and the first one is Jess Dee’s Afternoon Rhapsody Lexxie Couper tells the 2nd story, Sunset Heat . Sami Lee wraps up this installment of Bandicoot Cove Moonlight Madness. Click on the titles to go to their page in my New Fiction Release Database. 🙂 Oh! As a special thank you to these delightful and darling Aussies- I’m running a contest and giving away a set of Bandicoot Cove, The Wedding to one lucky commenter. The Rafflecopter is at the bottom of the post.
Oh! <g> If you are wondering why I have their names in that order, it’s cause it rhymes 🙂
Me: Hi Girls! Thank you all for visiting from Australia and sitting down on my virtual couch to chat with me about your new stories in the Bandicoot Cove series. Can I get you anything? Coffee? Tea? I see you brought some Tim Tams… hint-hint <g> Did anyone bring Freddo the Frogs to share too? Or maybe ya’ll would care for an adult beverage ? *side glances at the Romantic Times Convention pic on my bookshelf with Dawn of Day Drmzzz blog* lol Dawn would tell you I really enjoyed Malibu and Pineapple. 🙂 What’s your preferred fun drink?
Sami: I love margaritas, but with sugar around the rim instead of salt
Jess: Weak, skim latte, one sweetener please. Unless you want to be naughty. Then, hmmm, a strawberry daiquiri please. (Made by Finn, the Bandicoot Cove bartender.)
Lexxie: I’ve got Freddos. And when are you ever not naughty, Jess? Alcoholic beverages all round, I say. Make mine a vodka and cranberry juice, please (I blame this drink of Sami’s wicked influence, by the way).
Jess: Pity. Maybe we can teach you?
Me: *chokes* huh? What? <g>
Soooo, Weddings….. I LOVE weddings! *munches a cookie*
Jess: Try the honeycomb Tim Tams. They are really good.
Me:*takes another cookie- munch* ohhhh yum! *swallows and looks at cookies* What was I going to say? Oh! yes, weddings…. lol I worked for 7 years in a bridal salon and I’ve seen it all, bridezillas, monster-in-laws, stressed out/blissed out brides to be and everything in between. What type of wedding did each of you have? Big white wedding gown or something more casual or… ummm a bikini perhaps!? Inquiring minds need to know :p
Sami: I got married in my parents’ yard, which has a lovely river view, and we had a marquee out back. It was summer but the weather wasn’t too hot, we were very lucky. I wore a full skirt in ‘champagne’ satin, an off white which is I think meant to suggest the bride isn’t virginal enough for pure white :). It was a pretty casual affair. That’s me, a casual girl.
Jess: We got married at this gorgeous venue out in the countryside. Chose it coz the gardens were exquisite. The kind of gardens you wanna stroll through for hours on end with the one you love. Of course it rained from the moment we woke up that day, ‘til long after the wedding finished, and we had to stare through rain streaked windows to get tiny glimpses of those gardens. Still, the day was perfect. 🙂
Lexxie: In a band rotunda, overlooking the beach, with the Spring breeze playing in my hair and the kookaburras laughing the whole way through. It was very relaxed, informal and wonderful. I walked into the rotunda to a friend singing Bon Jovi’s ‘Always’. The celebrant called me the wrong name during the “Do you take XXXX to be your wife?” bit. Thirteen years later, and my brothers-in-law still call me by that name 🙂
Me: *heaves a sigh* Those are all lovely memories. Thank you for sharing. 🙂 and Lexxie? Are you sure you’re married… Legally? lol
The premise of The Bandicoot Cove series is so fun. A luxury, five-star resort and its employees and guests romantic adventures. *daydreaming* I wanna go! Lol Where is someplace you’ve been to on vacation that was a dream come true? Or someplace you are still hoping to go?
Sami: Pre-kids my hubby and I went to Fiji for ten days. I’ve never been so lazy in my life. I had worked a stressful job for the past year and had just quit it. The meandering island lifestyle was difficult to get used to but once my body clock reset it was like life suddenly made sense. It was truly magical (and yes island holidays are my absolute favorites)
Jess: Just come home from my dream vacation. Went back to South Africa, and spent a week on a luxury safari in the Game Reserve there. And I mean luxury. Gorgeous bungalows with private pools, meals cooked specifically to our tastes. Outdoor showers (and indoor ones.) Lying in the bathtub, watching elephants walking across the river just a few meters away. Golden orange sunsets over the African bush. Idyllic.
Lexxie: Geez, you two. Luxury and magic? Where’s your sense of adventure? Hee hee hee *ducks Jess’ daiquiri* I have two dream holiday destinations. One (which is the mother-in-me’s dream holiday), is Disneyworld with my family. My husband and I went there pre-children a decade ago and went on every rollercoaster at the park. My girls are already adrenaline junkies so a family dream holiday would be a theme-park crawl followed by swimming in a cool pool to wash away the days’ madness. My other dream holiday destination is a simple one: wherever my husband is and our mobile phones and laptops aren’t 🙂 (If there’s a pool to relax beside and a platter of fresh fruit to pick at, all the better)
Me: Tropical Paradise, Exotic Safari and Disney? I’ve only been to Disney- which is total awesomesauce! I would try the others though :p
I noticed that the first Bandicoot installment last year had Jess Dee, Lexxie Couper and Vivian Arend. What happened to the Canadian? Were you trying to do an all Aussie takeover? : Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi lol
Sami: I didn’t do it. Nobody saw me do it. You can’t prove anything
Jess: Yeah, there was an unfortunate incident over at Aussie customs, and Viv couldn’t make it back for the wedding. But don’t panic. Last we heard, she was living it up in Ecuador. (She did miss a fantastic wedding tho.)
Lexxie: I’m blaming Ecuador.
Me: *nodding head* Ecuador. *grabs a Freddo the Frog and starts talking with my mouth full*
How is… *ahem* How is writing this collaborative work different from the first time around? It must make it easier for those late night phone calls or emails because you are all on the same time zone <g>
Sami: I find it hard to believe it could have been any more difficult catching up with a Canadian as it has been with me! I get up early mornings, go to work and go to bed early, so I completely miss Lexxie the night owl, and Jess who is most active during the day when I’m at the dreaded day job. You should have seen us trying to hook up an IM chat one night, it was comedy in the making.
Jess: Wow, you managed to track down Lex and Sami and interview them both? How did you do that???
Lexxie: Who are you two people again?
Me: I love you girls! <g> ummm Sami? Was there a learning curve coming into the Bandicoot Resort world? Especially with *elbows Lexxie and Jess* these 2 having written stories at the resort already. 🙂
Sami: Not really, it seemed to just flow. I’d read the initial series and knew the setting, I knew Mack and Aidan from Tropical Sin. Once I pitched my idea about Mack’s eldest brother and one of Mack’s friends and the girls liked it, I just wrote. And Mitch is a bit of a hard nut, but I fell hard for him around chapter five, during the buck’s night scene. That’s when he really started to lose his cool 🙂
Lexxie: Oh God, I LOVE LOVE LOVE that scene. LOVE it!!
Me: Do you girls have plans for more stories at the Bandicoot Resort? *puppy eyes*
Sami: I’ve always said we should do one called Bandicoot Cove: The Honeymoon, but I think it’s been voted as too pervy 🙂
Jess: Go on Sami. Tell them what you really suggested we should call Series Three of Bandicoot Cove. Don’t be shy now.
Lexxie: Yeah, Sami. Tell. Tell 😉 (On a serious note, we do. But because we are such teases all I can say is…hostile corporate take-over attempt, visiting royalty, a sheik, a con-man on the run and the CIA. No, seriously.)
Me: awww man! that’s cruel and unusual punishment to say something like that and not let us read it yet! Royalty AND a Sheik (my fav fantasy) plus a con-man and the CIA? Gimme! :p
For the readers who haven’t visited Bandicoot Resort – Tropical Desires from last year or Bandicoot Cove- The Wedding yet… What would you say to invite readers to visit Bandicoot in 3 sentences or less? Hit me with your best shot… *bopping head* What? Yes, I’m singing <g>
Sami: Bandicoot Cove stories are sexy, daring and a whole lot of fun. They’re about pure escapism, and this time around there are a few unexpected twists and turns to keep readers on their toes. What could be better?
Jess: Falling in love on a tropical island? It’s every woman’s secret fantasy….and now we’ve made it a reality for you.
Lexxie: *singing along* Why don’t you hit me with your best shot. Hit me with your best shot. Fire away! Wait, what was I meant to be doing?
Me: *sways with Lexxie on the couch* Everybody Sing!
*sings verse* Well, you’re the real tough cookie… hummm. mmmmm don’t remember the rest mmm-mmmm dum-dum dee *comes back strong with Lexxie* WHY DON’T YOU HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT? FIRE AWAaaaaayyyy! rotflol
Congratulations on the Bandicoot Wedding at the resort… I wish I could truly stay there! *sigh* But I know I will revisit your stories 🙂
Sami: Thanks so much for having us
Jess. Ditto. Thanx for having us. And you’re welcome to come back and visit Bandicoot Cove as often as you’d like.
Lexxie: *still singing* Hit me with your best shot… *looks in empty glass* How many of these vodka and cranberries have I had now? Can I have another, please? *hic*
Me: I’m the Queen of Tarts *grandly proclaiming* You MAY have another drink and stay in the kingdom of Book Tartlandia however long you desire…. With a work visa and you have to write stories. *giggles* I think I have a sugar high *Hiding the Tim Tams behind a pillow*
Thank you so much ladies for the visit! And thank you for my Tim Tams…

Meet the Aussies
Lexxie Couper started writing when she was six and hasn’t stopped since. She’s not a deviant, but she does have a deviant’s imagination and a desire to entertain readers with her words. Add the two together and you get erotic romances that can make you laugh, cry, shake with fear or tremble with desire. Sometimes all at once.
When she’s not submerged in the worlds she creates, Lexxie’s life revolves around her family, a husband who thinks she’s insane, a indoor cat who likes to stalk shadows, and her daughters, who both utterly captured her heart and changed her life forever.
Having no idea how old she really is, Lexxie decided to go with 27 and has been that age for quite some time now. It’s the best of both worlds – old enough to act mature, young enough to be silly.
Lexxie lives by two simple rules – measure your success not by how much money you have, but by how often you laugh, and always try everything at least once. As a consequence, she’s laughed her way through many an eyebrow raising adventure.

Meet Sami Lee
From as far back as my kindergarten days my school report cards were riddled with comments on my proclivity for daydreaming. I was always getting caught staring out the window… or interrupted from important creative business as I saw it. Over the years that hasn’t changed much. If anything it’s gotten worse – the lot of a writer. I’m always being visited by my characters and they talk so loudly I have to write their stories.
My road to publication was long and winding. I’ve been writing off and on since high school but, as often happens, other duties called (like earning a living, what a drag) and for many years writing took a back seat. I wrote in dribs and drabs, and completed manuscripts were few and far between. That was until I had my first daughter in 2005 and I started a regular routine of writing during her nap times. I completed one manuscript that didn’t quite make it before I revisited an old ms that I’d always liked (one of the few that did get finished!). That manuscript, originally called The Little Red Dress, became my first published novel, the re-titled Born Again Virgin. I still get comments on that title, which I thought of on the spur of the moment just before I submitted it to Samhain Publishing, with high hopes of grabbing an editor’s attention :). Imagine my excitement when that editor wrote back in only two weeks to say she wanted to buy the story! Born Again Virgin was released as an e book in May 2007. Then along came a short story I wrote almost entirely for fun called Fijian Fling. And yes, the title does give away the plot :), and from all reports, it IS a fun read. In between those releases and my latest erotic novella, Chasing Sunset, I had another baby, learned to blog, advertise, edit, design bookmarks and a website… I’ve never been so busy as I have been since I first received that acceptance from Samhain. As for my next project? My latest novel, a follow up to Chasing Sunset entitled Sunset Knight, is coming out in print this October. I can’t wait to see that one in the ‘flesh’. After that? It could be anything. I’ll keep you posted right here…http://www.samilee.com./

Jess Dee lives in beautiful Sydney, Australia, with her husband, their two sons and their insane dog – a ridiculously overweight puggle named Luigi.
An avid romance reader since her early teens, Jess knew one day, when she grew up, she’d have to write her own love stories. It might have taken a while, but in December of 2005, she finally got “the call.” Her first book, Photo Opportunity had been contracted. Now you can’t hold her down. She’s completed a whole host of books, and is finally doing the work she loves most— writing romance.
Jess likes to set her stories in Australia. Have a look at the gorgeous images on the page, and you’ll understand why it’s so easy to find romance in this beautiful country.
