Dropping the Ball…

or

I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry!

I’m a mess… more of a mess than usual I mean. *snork* I haven’t been posting as much on here. I haven’t shared my drama in a Frantic Friday post since last August! My Court of Reviews has stepped into the gap recently and helped with my lack of focus. (Thank you guys!) Oh! If you’ve sent me an email in the past… oh 10 weeks or so – does 2.5 months sound better? I think so. *nods* So scratch that! In the last 2.5 months I’ve barely answered emails. Most of them, (around 98%), are still waiting for me to get my head on straight. But I just can’t seem to… stop wobbling. yet.

I’m sorry. I know I have dropped the ball on my blog- and I adore The Book Tart and all my bookie friends! But…. Gahhh!

My Bookstore Beau is also Army Guy and he told me right before Christmas that he was being deployed. I cried. We just found out a few weeks ago that he will be leaving March 9th-ish.  I AM going to put on my big girl panties and do this thing. I’m going to bake cookies and send care packages to Afghanistan and read romance and I will DEAL. *nods* I will. Positive thinking can help right?

I need to find a balance between life, love and the pursuit of happiness. 🙂 The Book Tart has been a dream of mine for a few years and finally it’s up. It’s still a work in progress… the database isn’t working right now, ( it’s being fixed!) I’ve met so many lovely friends who share my obsession with fiction. I don’t want to give this up. Talking about books… it’s my happy place. 🙂 So I’m not quitting.

But…

steps

Spilling my guts here now to try to explain. I’ve never had a beau before. *blush* yep. Never. I was waiting for that someone to give me butterflies… And I finally stopped looking. That’s when Bookstore Beau came up to me in a B&N, said hi and gave me his number. He’s my lobster. I love him. I’ve had a hard time juggling him into my life though and not dropping other balls. He’s very proud of my blogging/vlogging and encourages me to make time, except I get distracted more easily now. 😛 The blog hasn’t been in rotation quite as much. While he’s deployed I’m going to try to find balance for all the parts of my life…

I adore everyone who visits my little corner of the web and if ya’ll have any tips or stories about handling long distance relationships or balancing love and life… or even a silly story to distract me- shiny! I would really appreciate the help.  I’m a newbie at this circus act and need all the help I can get.

PS. Hopefully next week I can share engagement pictures! I’m trying to get permission from the Barnes and Noble store that we met in to have our photo shoot there. 😉

  1. congratulations on getting engaged. your story is like a romance novel in real life!!

    keep in touch!

I think deployment is different from a regular long dist relationship.
    1. he’s not away by choice. the option for one of you to decide to move to the other’s place of work does not exist.
    2. he’s not having a good time there while you’re le miz at home.
    3. he’s serving the country – not just at a good paying job or at school. so you’re both doing something noble. I think military wives/fiancées serve our country too.

And, I know you’re not going to put your own life and dreams on hold waiting for his return. It’s important that you go onto to all the great things you had planned while he is away and live as fully as you can while half of your heart is away.

    1. Steph! Thank you hon for the advice and understanding. I feel like I’m on a roller coaster… Up down all around.

  2. Congrats on the engagement! I’m so happy for you! <3

Met my hubby when I was 17 and he was 18 just going off to college. We went to different colleges 3 hours apart. I was a believer of if it is meant to happen it, it will. Just hang in there. The time will fly by. It's almost been 32 yrs since we first started dating and we will celebrate our 25th Anniversary in May and I still can't believe how fast the time flies by.

Congrats again! I soooooooooooooo can't wait to see what you pick for a wedding dress! 😉
