Robin L. RothamMore Robin

When I complained of being bored the summer before 7th grade, my mother (who worked at a boookstore at the time) handed me a stripped copy of Victoria Holt’s The Shivering Sands–and I was hooked. I became a voracious reader, bringing home stacks of romantic novels from the library every few days.

At 14, I tried to write my first two romances. The first was about a federal agent masquerading as a bank robber, and a smart-mouthed customer who drove a custom baby blue Trans Am named Shark. He stole Shark as his getaway vehicle and she dove in beside him. That was as far as I got–I could never see beyond their flying down the highway bickering as they were chased by bad guys.

The second was a hot mess of a Gothic paranormal erotic involving an 18yo governess and the 16yo eldest son of the house, who made quite innappropriate advances toward her via astral projection while she slept. I wrote 100 pages front and back IN PENCIL before I hit the I HATE point and shoved it under my bed. When I retrieved it 2 years later, the lead was so smeared I couldn’t read it. The End.

It took finding my own hero to reignite my passion for romance writing. More than 25 years later, I bought a used laptop on eBay and wrote my first erotic romance. My latest release, Carnal Compromise, spent 10 days at #1 on Samhain’s bestseller list.

Mr Robin and I have been married for 15 years; we live on a farm and have three wonderful kids. I love to hear from readers, so don’t be timid about saying hi!

  1. My all time favorite is Twas the Night Before Christmas. Something you just have to read to be in the spirit of the season. I did get a chance to read Take Me Home for Christmas by Brenda Novak and really enjoyed the story and her work. This is the first time I read a book by her.

  2. My current fave is Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I just read that w/my granddaughter and we laughed the whole way thru. Memories for a lifetime (I read the smutty stuff after she goes to bed) lmao

  3. I’m reading Sue-Ellen Welfonder’s Once Upon a Highland Christmas and it’s great so far. It’s my first this year, lol. I’m kinda behind on my new release reading… Thanks for the giveaway!

  4. Oh yes, I read Karli Perrin’s The Gift and it was fabulous!!! Got me smiling from the beginning till the end and left me bare~ sighs~ It was a heck of a ride.

  7. I love reading ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas to my children. For my own reading, I loved the Kinky Christmas Carol by the Smutketeers

  8. My favorite Christmas story is now “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” simply because I love listening to my daughter read it to me. Watching her face as she reads it because she loves it so much is the best feeling in the world!

  9. ’twas the night before Christmas will always be my traditional favorite. I read this story to my children and next year I will be able to read to my 1st grandbaby. Romance Christmas stories are one of my favorite reads. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone.

  10. MacKenzie’s Mountain by Linda Howard is my favorite Christmas story although it’s not actually during Christmas…. but the first scene is all snowy and cold and any of those MacKenzie’s can snuggle up to me anytime. This book was a Silhouette Desire originally I think and turned into a five book series that was SSOOOOO freakin’ good.

I end up reading it every Christmas. :>

  11. I’ve read and like many xmas stories, my fave this year is “Embracing the Light” 2nd xmas story, a short in the Elven Chronicles by M. A. Abraham. A sweet, sweet story that portrays what the holidays is about, family, fun.
    Thank you for the giveaway.

  12. Fun giveaway! My all-time favorite Christmas book is Christmastime by Sandra Boynton – a humorous take on the holiday season from the 80s. My favorite Christmas romance?…so many good ones…I always find myself rereading Maybe This Christmas by Jane Blackwood from the Jingle All the Way anthology.

  13. Cute video!

I have reread Johanna Lindsey’s “The Present” several times. It’s a reunion story bringing the Malory family together during Christmas.

    1. Thank you! I’m rather a drama Queen and like cameras 😉

I love Johanna Lindsey! I should reread The Present too 😀
