Sweet Texas Fire

by Nicole Flockton

Gage Cooper is an oil businessman, Charlotte Wilkinson an environmental analyst, even though these two have never met their meetings are never easy, calm or simple. They both push for what they think is best, usually the complete opposite of what the other wants. When Charlotte inherits a piece of land from Gage’s father (a friend who she was unaware of his connection to Gage) Gage is ticked, that his father left family land to some random woman when he expected it to come to him. With Charlotte in the US on a work visa and Gage wanting the land he suggests a compromise, a marriage of convenience. Charlottes gets a green card and he gets the land, what could be simpler? Maid of Tarts Review of Nicole Flockton’s Tangled Vines

Tangled Vines: An Australian Rural RomanceMaid of Tarts Review of

Tangled Vines

by Nicole Flockton

For such a short sweet read, this story had a plot and wonderful characters. The trend in some short stories is to go from the initial character meeting, hop them into bed, to the happily ever after at the end, with nothing in the middle, skipping what I would call some of the essential parts. There is not much or very little for character development, no full understanding of emotions and usually leaves me feeling like I’ve been duped out of part of the book. Ms. Flockton managed to stuff everything a story needs into a very nice small package.

Dirty Deal

A big brother does a favor for a little sister and ends up naked on a stage with only a pair of boxers covered in twigs and berries. A business partner takes one for the team to seal a deal and ends up buying a guy err well a date. What do these two have in common besides loving, well intentioned friends and family? A serious phobia of commitment.

Take Me If You Dare

by Nina Crespo

So why would an attractive, sexy woman be sitting in a Miami bar suffering through cheesy line after cheesy line? A dare from her best friend that’s why. Jasmine and Tara have been daring each other to do wild and crazy stuff for their birthdays since the beginning of their friendship. This year’s dare is Tara’s idea for helping Jasmine get over her cheating ex-fiancé . . . . a one-night stand. Except the possibilities aren’t exactly eerrr well desirable. “Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?” (*snort* I mean come on that’s one of the cheesiest one liners ever.)

The Maid of Tarts Review of Amy Gregory’s Gabby Revealed

Gabby Revealed

by Amy Gregory

Take a smart-ass book store owner and a sexy literary agent, put them together in a small town and what do you have? One hell of story that’s what! This book had me smiling, crying, pissed off (I hate bullies) and snorting with laughter.  It runs you through the ringer and has you glad that you did.

Gabby, well she’s like a sour patch kid.  Has an exterior that can be tough to get by, but once you do you see the sweet interior.  She’s got a hard, no-nonsense, smart-assy side that the majority of people in Renlend sees but has this softer more loving side too.  There’s also this vulnerable part of her that is still dealing with a hurt from her high school days.

Up By Five

by Erin Nicholas

This is one of those stories that you wait for with bated breath, devour as soon as it’s available and then cry and yell when you realize that you’ve just read the last book in a wonderful series.  You ask yourself “what no more?” Nope the guys and gals you have come to love have all told you their stories, you ask “are you sure?” Let me check, just in case you may have missed one (extremely doubtful and highly improbable) but still you look and you realize this journey has indeed come to an end (sigh).

Best friends? Check. Baking buddies? Check.  Sizzling chemistry? Double check.  Amazing sex? Nope.  Wait, what? Cody and Olivia are perfect for each other; they laugh, they bake, they hang out and just generally feel right when they are together.  Plus they have some serious hot chemistry.  There is just one small problem, Conner Continue reading “Maid of Tarts review of Erin Nicholas’ Going For Four”

Cupid’s Arrow

I love a good romance and when you throw in a mystery too, the story is definitely right up my alley.  Cupid’s Arrow shows you the world of animated movies and all itsruthless competition without bogging you down with too much techy stuff.  Funny, fast-paced and with so many twists that kept a girl guessing this book is a definite must read.
