I am kinda hit and miss with my lusting for covers posts. I’m sorry! *wails* I love looking at covers and now that I have the wish list option it’s even more fun to scroll through all the new books and highlight the pretty… I just keep getting overwhelmed with life. *sigh* I am slowing down for the rest of the month on posts so that I can focus on getting ready for the Romantic Times Book Convention *squee!*
I am a Beach Book Tart for another week… I’m on a work trip in the Caribbean and I got sunburned today! meep! Anyway I am behind on so much and didn’t do my Lusting For Covers last week. *shakes head pitifully*
I love Julie Garwood! I have been a romance reader since the mid 1990s and I adore her historical romances. Her contemporary romances have been fun too… some more than others. 😛 This one looks yummy!
I love a guy in a dress shirt and the cover for Julie Garwood’s upcoming contemporary romance Hotshot has the hot guy, dress shirt and a badge! Check it out *points down* it will be available August 6th, 2013.
I am in love with this cover! For Darkness Shows The Stars by Diana Peterfreund will be out in paperback July 2nd… I don’t know if I want to wait. I’m a print junkie but I really love the synopsis of this story and the author compares it to Jane Austen’s Persuasions… another review says “post-apocalyptic Persuasion” *Kermit Flail* I might just need to get it in ebook. *points down* What do you think? does this cover make you want to know more too?
Last week I picked a paranormal romance with a yummy hunk cover but this week I’ve picked the other type of cover that often appeals to me. A fantasy style cover! Yes. I really am I geek and I love to read sci-fi and fantasy fiction.
Thank you to The Book Queen for Lusting for Covers meme! It totally gives me an excuse to look at books and books and more books… I was sitting at my hair stylist’s house tonight as I waited for the bleach to process and then for the color to do it’s thing, I looked at books. So many jumped out at me and I noticed (not for the first time) that I really like YA covers. But I decided to save my young adult fiction pic for next week and share a romance cover.
I was playing on twitter tonight (Saturday) and was reminded of a series that I keep meaning to read. *head/desk* I have The Taken on my To Be Read mountain. It’s the first book in Vicki Pettersson’s Celestial Blue’s urban fantasy series. And the heroine is a rockabilly chic!
I know! I know! How have I not read it yet? I LOVE Vicki and I’m such a bad stalker. *sigh* I WILL read it before the sequel comes out the middle of March. The covers of both of Celestial Blue’s books are GORGEOUS! Noir vibe with a pinup flair! And the heroine’s name is Kit and I’m Kat. And together we’re a chocolate bar 🙂 and I just KNOW I’m going to love it.
