La Revenant’s review of Alison Kemper’s Dead Over Heels

Dead Over HeelsLa Revenant’s Review of

Dead Over Heels

by Alison Kemper,

“That sound they (zombies) make – “Rawwwrrr!” – it’s like T-Rex crossed with a dying cow.” (Dead Over Heels, Alison Kemper, p. 20)

Dead Over Heels was a fun teen zombie novel with a bit of a twist. The characters were well written and they developed and grew over the course of the story.  There was action, drama, and love. Alison Kemper has a delightful writing style that I enjoyed immensely.

La Revenant’s Review of If Only by A.J. Pine

If OnlyLa Revenant’s Review of

If Only

by A.J. Pine

“Picture this year like an alternate reality. A parallel universe. Your instinct has always been to wait, to be careful, to be sure. You don’t have time for that in Scotland. You only have time to enjoy, to live. See what it would be like to go against your instinct. Live a little, Brooks. You might enjoy it.”
(Sam to Jordan, If Only, A.J. Pine, 2014)

It has been two years since Jordan had a man in her life; a problem she hopes to remedy while attending college abroad in Aberdeen, Scotland. La Revenant’s Review of Jocelyn Adams’ Darkside Sun

Darkside Sun (Mortal Machine, #1)La Revenant’s Review of

Darkside Sun

by

This book sucked me in quickly and, shortly thereafter, it captivated my attention with its unique story line.

“Alternate realities? Multiple universes potentially containing other Earths? People tracking and destroying alien-ghost-thingies that could somehow make holes between our worlds to climb through? What would be next? I wasn’t sure I wanted to know, but my curiosity overrode my fear as questions piled up.”

Addison, Darkside Sun

Basically the world is under attack from the dead (wraiths) of a parallel dimension. There is a machine, The Mortal Machine (ooh-wee-ooh), that is the center of a secret society, which is fighting to protect humanity from the wraiths that are attempting to take over the world thus destroying life, as humanity knows it.

La Revenant’s review of Raw by Belle Aurora

RawLa Revenant’s Review of

Raw

by Bella Aurora

Raw and gritty, and dirty as hell. And it’s not often you see your fantasies come to life. This fantasy though? It’s scaring the shit out of me. I wonder if I’ll wake up soon to find this was all a dream.
Aurora, Belle (2014-01-13). RAW (p. 61). Kindle Edition.
Gritty, rough, bleak, and dark all describe Raw. This story was twisted and rough, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn’t anywhere close to perfect and that was okay. I did not like everything about this story but I liked it enough to finish it and the ending did not disappoint. Something you should know about me, I like endings that are more real and less happily ever after, just saying.

Preston (RecruitZ (Afterworld Series))

Welcome to the Afterworld. Zombies have decimated the population and life as it once was is no longer viable. And yet…people are attempting to revive normalcy; they are going back to college, fixing their homes up, spending their survivor bonuses from the government and getting married, ect.

Snow zombies, a kidnapped snow maiden, and a Yeti, oh my!

Track down those damn snow zombies and rescue the Snow Maiden of course. But it is looking a bit frightful outside, a horrible blizzard and subzero temperatures.
