Queen of Tarts review of
Bound By Their Love
by Nicole Flockton
I’ve been a fan of Nicole Flockton’s since I read her first release, Masquerade, a couple years ago. It’s been fun to watch her backlist grow and I especially enjoy her series novels. Bound By Their Love is the conclusion to her Bound trilogy. Yes! It can be read alone, but I got a kick out of catching up a bit with Luc and Jasmine and Nick and Pam from Bound By Her Ring and Bound By His Desire. The focus of Bound By Their Love is on Jeff and Greta’s rocky road to romance.
Jeff is a jewelry designer and Greta is an advertising executive. They both have trust issues, with good reason. When they first meet she’s scoping out some jewelry by an artist she’s hoping to win an ad campaign for. He’s the artist who’s been burnt by people wanting him because of his name… So he shortens it! 😛 Sparks fly and they can’t resist each other. The smexy times in this story are HOT! And the attraction between them steams off the pages. They part expecting to never see each other again.
Greta realizes she’s been lied to when she encounters him again but the desire between them can’t be ignored. I liked them both. I understood why Jeff hadn’t been completely honest and where Greta was coming from. The author revealed the characters’ baggage in a way that felt natural and made me care and NEED them to be honest and work through the repercussions of their actions. I wanted them to make their way through the dark and find peace in each other.
A few of my fav lines.
♥ She perused the menu, not really reading what was listed. ‘Is there anything else you can recommend?’
Greta looked up and caught the gleam in his eyes. Somehow she knew his next recommendation wasn’t going to be something from the menu. ‘Food-wise, I mean.’ 😉
♥ Jeff’s arms closed around her, rolling so that she was lying on top of him. Her eyes drifted shut in contentment. It felt right to be in his arms. It felt perfect to be in his bed. It felt like she was home.
While this romance does contain a trope I’ve read too often recently I was eager for a happy ending for Jeff and Greta! I raced through this novel in one sitting. I’m looking forward to the next story Nicole Flockton chooses to tell. I’m there. 😀
