The Book Tart Episode 53 ~ Review of Amy Gregory’s Alex’s Destiny

Review of Alex’s Destiny

Gahhh! I haven’t done a video review in over a month! Bad llama!  But. I’m back. I had to get creative because my video cam was on the fritz so I used my webcam. I love Amy Gregory’s storytelling and read Alex’s Destiny last week in one sitting. It’s beautiful, painful, hopeful and un-putdownable. 🙂 I am kicking myself for not having made time to read the entire Racing To Love series before this.

Alex Sterling has devoted her life to teaching the racers at her family’s motocross racing school, and to the one man she’s been in love with since she was four. Alex is brains and innocence wrapped up in one beautiful package every man wants, but only one man can have.

Dallas Hunter is a pro-racer on the motocross circuit, following in the footsteps of his father Eli. For Dallas it has always been Alex, but he’s determined not to hurt his family, even if it means letting her go.

Alex finds herself caught up in a disturbing game of cat and mouse and is too terrified to tell anyone. Dallas knows something is wrong and races back home, but what he finds almost kills him. Fixing Alex’s pain is all he cares about and suddenly he must decide if his love for her is greater than his love for racing. Dallas knows he has to help his best friend, the woman he loves, and do it without tearing his family apart.

Amy Gregory leads an incredibly active lifestyle in Kansas City with her husband and their three fantastic kids who keep them running in three very different directions. When she’s not rushing her oldest daughter to tumbling, her youngest daughter to music lessons, or sitting track-side watching her son practice motocross, she’s taking the few minutes in between to scribble the next pages in her Racing to Love series.
When asked, “When do you have time to write?” Amy Gregory giggles. “In bits and pieces,” she says.
Amy is known for her snarky, off the cuff sense of humor, which you’ll find shining through in the characters she’s created.
I’ve spent my whole life trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, and now I’ve finally found it. – Amy Gregory
