Queen of Swords

by Katee Roberts

Queen of Swords by Katee Robert is delicious! I’m kicking myself for not reading one of her books on my TBR pile sooner. I LOVED this story. I got a geeky thrill outa the sci-fi and paranormal elements. And the romance was a perfect blend of steamy heat and emotional heart. Also, this adventure was just plain fun! I’m so glad the sequel is out soon cause I needs it! (ok, that’s a lot of exclamation points but this story deserves them. 🙂 !!! )

Ophelia is a Diviner and does her best to follow the path set before her by the Lady. She’s just suffered a horrible loss because she didn’t believe the message in the Lady’s cards. She’s trying to drown her sorrows in booze when she gets distracted by Boone and decides to drown her sorrows in him. 😉 Yum! I adored Ophelia. She’s confident, take charge and fierce. She kicks butt!

Now Boone… Mmmmm I rather fell for him too. He’s tough, protective, stubborn and more than a match for Ophelia. He has his eyes on the prize. He needs to stop his sadistic brother’s plans to marry Ophelia and cause more pain… Pain he’s all too familiar with.

I raced through this story. I laughed at Ophelia and Boone’s dialogue and sighed at their smexy times. I liked how they balanced each other out. I loved seeing Boone acknowledge his feelings and Ophelia letting down her walls.

Oh! I also enjoyed the well rounded secondary characters and need a story for Boone’s sister Jenny and a few more characters as well. 🙂

A few of my fav lines.

She had the sudden, irrational urge to kill this man. Or kiss him. Before Ophelia could carry out either intention, he scooped her up again, hugging her to his chest.

The crack in his heart widened alarmingly, followed by a surge of protectiveness Boone didn’t know what to do with. He wasn’t in a position to protect anyone else right now, let alone a Diviner with a penchant for finding trouble.

I LOVED Queen Of Swords. It’s sexy, snarky, Sci-fi-antastic fun, with lotsa heart, and get the fan turned on heat. 😉 If you love romance, paranormal romance, science fiction and/or just great storytelling, read Katee Robert!

When the cards tell Ophelia Leoni she’s supposed to marry the Prince of Hansarda, the gunrunner grits her teeth and boards the starship that comes for her. It doesn’t matter if the ship’s commander is the gorgeous stranger she just spent a wild, drunken night with. As a Diviner, she’s painfully aware the cards don’t lie. Ever.

Boone O’Keirna knows Ophelia is trouble the second he sees the way she moves. Not about to let the little hellcat marry his sadistic half-brother, Boone pretends to be the Prince’s emissary and kidnaps Ophelia. Too bad they can’t be in the same room without him wanting to throw her out an airlock–or into bed.

Even as they fight each other–and their explosive attraction–Ophelia and Boone sense something is wrong. Too much is going their way. Soon, they realize while the cards may never lie, the truth is sometimes hidden between them…and the future king of Hansarda is not one to take defeat lying down.
