La Revenant’s Review of
by Megan D. Martin
Eve, a girl who was named after the biblical Eve who brought sin into the world (F-d up parents, don’t ask); she is just a girl who is trying to survive and find her sister, Olive. It has been four years, four years since the end of the world as she knew it and Eve is tired. She is tired of constantly being on the run, of being alone, and of not being able to trust anybody in this new world.
◊ Here it is. The end of her life. Eve always knew it would come, and that it would be exactly like this. With a swarm of dead flesh and tangling limbs. She knew it wouldn’t be peaceful when she reached a ripe old age, holding her grandchild’s hand, telling stories that he or she had already heard a million times. No, she knew that had never been in the cards for her. Not with the way the world had crumbled four years ago.
Alive (The Crave) Megan D. Martin
Alive (The Crave) is a book which possesses some of my favorite themes, a dystopian world, zombies, and a kick ass strong heroine who is slightly messed up in the head. I enjoyed following her through this story. Watching as she was saved from “suicide by zombie” because of a man, Gage, who was in the right place at the right time. A man who was from her past, a man that she had called her first love.
This story follows Eve and Gage as they work together to survive. There is much angst between the two because of their past and how things were left unfinished. There is also some steamy chemistry between them that they are unable to deny.
This was a fun book to read and I eagerly await Infected (The Crave #2) which is due out Summer 20014!
