Zombie Costume

Zombies… I think I have mentioned I’m not really into scary movies. But my girl, La Revenant, is all about the zombies so when we were planning our costumes for the 2011 Heather Graham Ball at the Romantic Times Book Convention, she convinced us that zombies would rock. And we had the best time! You don’t need to worry about smiling or looking at the camera, or standing straight for that matter. It it one of the most relaxing costumes I’ve ever done. Hmmm That sounds weird. But it was so nice not to worry about looking good. lol The point was to look horrible.

Here’s the great makeup tutorial we used

You Need

• Kryolan Fresh Scratch Blood 1.75oz

• Fleet Street Bloodworks Drying Blood Fresh 2oz

• Kryolan Supracolor Bruise Wheel #1304

• Kryolan Aquacolor TV White 2.5oz

• Paint brushes for the blood

• Big sponges for the Aquacolor TV White makeup (to apply dead white color to all exposed skin)

• Elmers glue or tacky glue for the scars and wripped skin (it works amazingly, just like in the vid)

• Small wedge shaped sponges to apply the bruises

• a rag or washcloth to wipe up any blood messes you make! We were actually not that messy

Loved all this makeup. We could dance, or shuffle, the night away and the blood and gray didn’t smudge off on others. It only came off with soap and water. Yes, I got some on my corset, but I think that’s cause I was wearing it when I put on the body paint.

The only zombie books I’ve actually read are Diana Rowland’s White Trash Zombie series. I LOVE them. La Revenant rather looked like the heroine, Angel
