Me: Beth hon! You’re back! I love that you come hang out in Tartlandia. Oh! Oh! *Kermit Flail* I have something for you…. *grabs tiara and places it on Beth’s head* You, my dear. Are an honorary Citizen of Tartlandia! With all the privileges and responsibilities to eat cupcakes and read on cozy couches forthwith. *nods regally* yay!

Beth: *Beth bows* I am not worthy. But I love the tiara and cupcakes, so I gleefully accept. Viva Tartlandia!

Me: <g> Sit. Sit. Put your feet up darling and relax. You have been on a whirlwind of adventure this year. *sigh* I LOVE that there’s more Beth Ciotta stories but… Make time for cupcakes. 🙂 *nibbles chocolate cupcake* Happy Book Birthday! Anything But Love is out! *voice over* In fine stores and ebook retailers everywhere! Thank you for writing Luke’s story for me. 😛photo 3

Beth: You’re very welcome! Luke was a challenge and a pleasure to write. *nibbles on red velvet cupcake* I love that he was all charming and doglike with an underlying vulnerability. Rae blinsided him in every way!

Me: Awww I love them together!

Tell me about Luke and Rae, and writing a hero who doesn’t excel at baking cupcakes. <g>

Beth: It’s funny. I actually posted a plea on Facebook, asking readers to share some baking horror stories. They were a hoot and a couple of them ended up in the story. In truth, I totally got Luke’s dilemma. I, too, am challenged in the baking department. (Don’t spread that around!) Regarding Luke and Rae…. They’re exact opposites in so many ways, but at the same time both are kind and caring people with major vulnerabilities. Rae twists Luke up like no other woman. It was touching to see him rising to the occasion.

Me: I adored seeing the two of them flirt and fight and let their walls down. *swoon* I also loved seeing the couples from previous visits to Sugar Creek. Chloe and Devlin, Rocky and Jayce… Daisy! And the rest of the Cupcake Lovers club and sooo I thought we’d play a game. *drumroll* I’m going to quiz you on your characters. 🙂 Cause you write excellent dialogue and I imagine a writers head is very busy soooo we’ll see how much you remember.

Beth: Oh, lordy. Don’t you know me well enough now to know that I have the worst memory EVER??  *devours a maple cupcake while bracing for mortification* Okay. Let me have it. Promise I won’t cheat.

Me: *adjusts crown* ok… here goes!

Beth: *polishing my tiara* You make me feel so special. Like Tartlandia royalty. Thank you! 🙂 I’m presently writing the fourth Cupcake Lover book—IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE. This story features Sam McCloud. His romance has been a long time coming and it’s exciting to write. IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE comes out July 2014. Also coming in early 2014, a novella and a new novel in my steampunk series—The Glorious Victorious Darcys. Stayed tuned for the upcoming unveiling of some uber awesome covers!

LOVE IS SWEET…For Reagan Deveraux, Sugar Creek, Vermont, and the Cupcake Lovers are a dream come true: A cozy little town where family and friends come before everything else. She’s never experienced anything like it—especially not growing up with her mother, a fickle, fame-hungry heiress. But Rae’s plan to hide out in anonymity for a year until she can claim her inheritance—and her independence—changes with one kiss from gorgeous pub owner Luke Monroe.UNTIL YOU SPICE IT UP…

Luke’s charm is legendary, but he’s never been a one-woman man. Until Rae captures his attention, that is, and then disappears. With a little help from a friend, Luke tracks her down—and unearths secrets almost too wild to be true, as well as the fact that Rae lied to him, and to all of Sugar Creek. Luke’s not sure if he can forgive her, but he definitely can’t forget her, and when she returns to save the Cupcake Lovers from disaster, he knows it’s his chance to get the truth—and get the girl, this time for good…

  1. I love Beth Ciotta books, so this is a great giveaway! I love your site, too. This is a new site for me and I love the fact that it is fresh, crisp and informative. === And it’s so cute!!!

    1. Awww thank you! And welcome to the party! I adore Beth too and love book birthdays! Cause well… New book and a reason for cupcakes? Yep! Perfect!

      (((Hugs))) Kat

  2. I honestly haven’t been to a party where games were played in so long that I couldn’t begin to tell you! I’m looking forward to reading your books, Beth! They sound wonderful!

  3. I absolutely love this series and am super excited to read the 3rd book. Luke is such a great guy, and I’m eager to see where things go for him and Rachel! The pre-view of this 3rd book in the 2nd one got me totally hooked and I’ve been eagerly awaiting this release!

  4. My favorite party game? Hmmmm. Well, at baby showers I always enjoy trying to pull off just the right amount of toilet tissue to go around the expectant mother’s baby belly!

  5. Hmmm, thinking on this one. The last party I went to was my sister’s baby shower. I think the one game I did not care for was Name that Candy Bar. What they did was take a part of a candy bar, melted it in the microwave and then put it in a diaper. It was disgusting, but fun to watch all of the faces.

  6. My Nook book was downloaded first thing this morning. I can’t wait to read it. As for my favorite game, if you are talking about baby/bridal shower games, I am one of those people out there who HATES to play those games. Sorry….I really do hate them. But I LOVE BETH’S BOOKS!!!!

    1. I don’t really play them… but it can make amusing people watching!
I love Beth’s books too! Thanks for coming to our party 😉

      xoxo, Kat

  7. I hate Apples to Apples because I think there is NO skill in it! I prefer smart people games like Scattergories or Balderdash!

  8. I like pinatas. My brother made a guitar shaped one this summer
Another fun game is pin the tail on the stripper
