One Fine Fireman
by Jennifer Bernard
One Fine Fireman is a sweet, short, sexy novella. It was exactly what I was looking for when I curled up with it one night last week. 😉 It has a relatable heroine, yummy hero, a brave boy and a cute dog. What more could you ask for?
There is something almost irresistible about a fireman (or woman 😛 ) And Jennifer Bernard writes sexy hot, emotionally charged contemporary romances that star fire fighters! They will definitely warm you up this winter 🙂 I fell in love with the Firemen of San Gabriel series this past summer when I picked up The Fireman Who Loved Me on the recommendation of Dawn from Daydrmzzz Book Reviews. I connected with Jen’s writing, her sense of humor, the emotional depth in the relationships and yes, 😉 the steamy love scenes.

I bought Ironskin, a new Young Adult book, a few weeks ago. It went on my want list when I added it to my New Release, October 2nd . But… I’ve been running like a hamster on a wheel and have not had a chance to read it yet. 🙁 I took a stack of books with me to visit La Revenant.
One of my favorite classics is Jane Eyre and Le Reve says it reminded her a bit of that. I need the book back… But I think she might be holding it hostage so I’ll come visit her sooner. 😛
Take a look at Ironskin and say hi to La Revenant please. 😉
The Queen of Tarts

Ironskin, is an enchantingly delightful story suitable for young adults and on to the adult who are young at heart. I devoured it in one sitting, coming to know Jane and the other characters quite well. Relationships were built, intrigues pursued, and fights ensued throughout this story. One of the reviews of Ironskin stated the story was a “steampunk Beauty and the Beast tale…” I definitely felt the story had more in common with Jane Eyre than Beauty and the Beast. I even had a passing thought of Phantom of the Opera while reading Ironskin but I think that mostly had to due with the mask on Jane’s face. I’m eagerly waiting fall 2013 so that I can read the sequel to this story! I highly recommend reading this book if you enjoy magical tales that are set in an almost familiar world, a world as it might exist in an alternate stream of time. I am having so much fun in my own little teeny corner of the web <g> I have been introduced to some really good books that I might otherwise have missed and then I can spaz out about them here in the comfort of my own virtual living room and chat about one of my favorite things in the world. Good Books!
Karen Stivali approached me in September and told me about Holding On and it’s book birthday November 25th and asked if I would like to read it. The synopsis grabbed me and I am delighted to say I loved this story! I might not have picked it up on my own and that would have been a shame. Karen is on my radar now 😛 And I’ll be watching for what she does next.
If you enjoy contemporary romance and stories with vivid characters and relatable situations take a look at Holding On. Click HERE for my review 🙂

Holding On is a beautifully told story of two people who love each other and all the rich and varied details that make a life. I feel like I would recognize Marienne and Daniel if we could meet because they feel so very real. The author immerses you into their lives and weaves a colorful tapestry of their daily joys and challenges they experience and their choice to hold onto the life they are building together. I loved this book.
I ♥ Junco
I love science fiction and I’m a bit of a geek. <g> I stumbled upon the I Am Just Junco books about 2 months ago and I am so glad I did. It’s an addicting series and I’m hooked on Junco and her adventures. I’m going to be stalking the author, J.A. Huss, until spring when the 4th book comes out.
I adore J.A. almost as much as I love her characters 😛 She lives in Colorado too and we need to get together for real, live, (non-virtual) hot chocolate soon. The reason we haven’t yet is Colorado is a big state! ok? lol
She rocks. She’s creative and funny and supportive and just plain nice! I am so happy that she’s visiting The Book Tart this week and I can pick her brain a bit about the future of Junco and ask her silly questions.
She is very generously offering one lucky commenter a signed set of all three of her books plus swag! Make sure you enter the Rafflecopter at the bottom of this post. I’m tossing in a digital set, cause I love this series and so the contest is open to International entries too.
Grab yourself some hot chocolate (don’t forget the marshmallows!) and settle in for a fun chat. 😀
It’s the most wonderful day of the week. *singing* with the new books a-calling and each one of them whispering ‘ You need me now!’ It’s the most wonderful day of the week!
